The cheapest plan of the range, and the only blocked one: when the 1 Go allowance runs out, the service simply stops instead of billing you extra. Calls are capped rather than unlimited. It is built for a teenager, a second line, or anyone who wants a French number and a guaranteed bill with no surprises.

A limited series with 20 Go in France and unlimited calls, enough for maps, messaging and music without tethering a laptop. One real caveat: it is the only plan of the range with no eSIM, so you have to wait for a physical card. If you are subscribing from abroad before you arrive, pick another plan.

The middle of the range and the best balance for most people: 100 Go in France, unlimited calls and texts, eSIM available. It covers heavy phone use and occasional tethering. Note that its European allowance drops to 40 Go, so a long stay outside France is where it shows its limit.

The travel plan, and the one worth knowing about if you keep a life in two countries: 200 Go in France on 5G, and above all 40 Go usable from 135 countries, Europe included, which is unusual at this price. Most French plans give you almost nothing once you leave the European Union.

The largest plan of the range: 300 Go in France on 5G, with the widest European allowance of the four unblocked plans at 50 Go. Worth it only if you genuinely use the phone as your main connection, for instance by tethering a laptop every day.

Sosh mobile range: offers compared by Selectra, prices and allowances re-read at every page load. The European allowance is the one that applies in the European Union and the French overseas departments, and it is capped independently of the French one. Texts are unlimited on all five plans.
What happens when you leave France?
Inside the European Union and the French overseas departments, your Sosh plan works like at home: calls, texts and data are included at no extra cost. The trap is the allowance, not the price. Roaming data is capped separately, and on the larger plans that cap is well below the French one, so a month spent in Spain or Portugal can exhaust it long before the French allowance would have run out.
Outside the European Union, the standard plans charge per megabyte, which is how holiday bills reach three figures. That is the gap the Forfait Voyage fills, with an allowance usable well beyond Europe. If you travel outside the EU more than once or twice a year, the few extra euros per month are usually cheaper than a single out-of-bundle episode.
The allowance that follows you is smaller
European roaming is meant for travel, not for living abroad on a French plan. Operators monitor usage that is permanently outside France and may restrict it. If you are moving out of France for good, cancel rather than keep the line.
SIM card, eSIM and keeping your number
- The SIM costs 10,00 € once, charged on the first bill, at the same price for a physical card or an eSIM.
- An eSIM is activated online with a QR code and no card to wait for, which is the practical choice if you subscribe before arriving. It is available on every plan except the 20 Go series.
- Your handset must be unlocked. Sosh sells no subsidised phone, so the plan and the device are two separate purchases.
- To keep a French number you already hold elsewhere, ask your current operator for its RIO code by dialling 3179, then give that code to Sosh when you subscribe. The old contract closes on its own.
- To leave with your number, the same mechanism applies in reverse, and it costs nothing since no Sosh plan is committed.
How do you subscribe?
Good to know: a Sosh mobile plan is subscribed online only, on the operator's own site. There is no telephone subscription for Sosh mobile, so every mobile link on this page leads straight to the operator. Our English-speaking advisers can still talk the market through with you, and they do handle internet subscriptions by phone.
The form takes a few minutes and asks for the same things as any French mobile contract.
- A valid identity document: passport, French identity card or residence permit.
- A French IBAN: the plan is collected by direct debit and a foreign account is not accepted, which is why a prepaid Mobicarte SIM is often the first step on arrival.
- A postal address in France for the SIM card, unless you take an eSIM.
- Your RIO code if you are keeping a number you already have.
Everything afterwards happens in the customer account or the mobile application: changing plan, buying a data top-up, ordering a replacement SIM, cancelling, or through one of the Sosh contact routes. All of it in French.

Our verdict on the Sosh mobile range
For an English speaker settling in France, the Sosh mobile range is among the soundest entry points on the market: the Orange network without the price of an Orange mobile plan, nothing to sign, and an eSIM you can activate before you land. The 100 Go plan is the one most people should take, and the Forfait Voyage is genuinely worth its premium if you keep travelling outside the European Union, which is precisely the case of many expatriates. Two limits deserve to be said plainly. Everything, from the subscription form to the cancellation, happens in French with no English support behind it. And the allowance that follows you around Europe is smaller than the one you enjoy at home, which is the detail most people discover too late.
